    I recomend trying to work with a more permanant medium such as sharpies or charcoal. Something that has high contrast and strong lines, and dont erase.
    This will teach you to only put down nessecary lines, yet you can still see the lines that you need to improve on. Plus its faster. Also im not sure how large you work but try to break free of soley drawing in your sketchbook. Its size is limiting, if you can draw big then you can draw small. Try 36 x 24 newsprint and tear through anatomy books. Sorry for the lecture but i hope it helps you out.
